Upcoming Cars In India: New Nissan Sunny in mid 2011

The Nissan Motor Company is planning to soon come up with a Nissan Micra sedan model (Nissan Sunny) to India. Again, this model of the company will be based upon the V platform of Nissan. The very first sketches of this Nissan product, which will be based on the V-platform of Nissan Micra, have been out for a long time.

Now the recent development on this front from Nissan is that the company has unveiled certain new low-resolution pictures of this car. These low resolution images reveal the detailed description about the interiors as well as exteriors of the car.

This new Nissan sedan, Nissan Sunny exhibits fresh and attractive interior. In terms of styling, the new Nissan Sunny looks like the miniature form of that of Nissan Teana. The recent images that have been unveiled by Nissan show that the engine provided under the hood of Sunny is the Nissan HR15 petrol motor. It provides around 110 BHP of power. It also provides 148 Nm of torque. This in turn, means that the new Nissan Sunny will give a tough competition to models like Hyundai Verna and Fiat Linea etc rather than the Maruti Swift Dzire or Tata Indigo Manza.

The new Nissan Sunny sedan will be introduced initially in the auto market of China, world’s biggest auto market. As far as the availability of this new Nissan Sunny in the Indian auto market is concerned, it is being expected that the car will be seen in India by the second half of the year 2011. This new product of Nissan will be made at the Oragadam facility of the company. The Oragadam facility of Nissan is close to Chennai in India. A huge investment has been made for this plant that also is the place where the much popular Nissan Micra is manufactured. As per the sources, an automatic transmission version is also likely to appear on the Indian roads during sometime in the coming year. It is being expected that this product will be an addition to the company’s Nissan Sunny series. But till now, no official confirmations have been received for the same.
