While most people are still waiting to see the official debut of the new Audi A7, others have tired of it and have begun providing renderings of the car. This vehicle wouldn’t exactly be the most difficult rendering ever done considering we already know most of what we need to know about the new model.
The 2012 A7 was previewed by the Sportback concept shown at last year’s Detroit Auto Showand is said to share a similar look with the A8, but oriented more into luxury than functionality. The official debut will be made in September at the Paris Auto Show. On sale in the spring of 2011, the A7 will compete with models like the Mercedes-Benz CLS, the Porsche Panamera, and the Aston Martin Rapide.
Under the hood of the future A7, Audi will use three different direct gasoline injection engines including a 2.8 Liter FSI and 3.0 Liter TFSI V6s as well as a 4.0 Liter TFSI V8. The alternatively fueled diesel options include a 2.7 Liter V6 and both turbocharged and twin-turbocharged versions of the existing 3.0 Liter TDI V6. All engine choices will be mated to a seven speed dual clutch automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive.
