Having been the face of Land Rover’s all terrain vehicle segment for years now, the Land Rover Defender is set to undergo major upgrades in order to keep it going strong for another decade or so. With years of immense trust behind it, the scheduled changes in technology and design would definitely be worth the cost and effort.

While Land Rover intends to keep rolling out Defenders till adequate demand exists, it is said to be designing a more road-friendly vehicle in the same lines. LR is going to unveil a newer version of its Freelander at the British Motor Show this year, while rumors persist that Ford Motors’ Focus, which is a 4×4 SUV, has led LR to develop a competitor in the small SUV segment.
