Reva NXR launch soon

Mahindra Reva is in testing procedures for its lithium-ion battery EV (Electric Vehicle) REVA NXR at IT city, Banaglore. The car has been spotted at different locations in Bangalore. Reva NXR will be a three door four seater EV and has top speed of 104 kmph covering 160 kms distance in one charge. This car can cover distance of 320 kms per day with consumption of 90 minutes fast charge and can cover distance of 40 kms with fast charge of 15 minutes. Expected price for Reva NXR would be around Rs 10 lacs.


Reva NXR will come with some advanced features of keyless operation, Digital Display, Dual charge port and SMS alerts. Reve electric, one the leading electric car manufacturers in India was acquired by Mahindra Group  Reva has been selling cars since 2001. Reva formed as a joint venture with two foreign companies, Detroit's General motors and Silicon Valley VC fund Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Moreover, Recently Reva has also collaborated with General Motors for manufacturing of Chevrolet Spark Electric Vehicle. This is a remarkable achievement as for the first time any Indian company is going to manufacture EVs for US based General Motors.

Reva is one the most sold electric cars in India which is also expected to get a different name and logo as a result of its merger with Mahindra.  Reva will continue to sell this car with its present name until and unless both Reva and Mahindra come with logo and name for Reva. By 2012 Mahindra and Reva aim to expand itself to 50 countries. Also the Managing Director of Reva, Mr. Chetan Maini has earlier commented that they would be targeting to expand Reva to 40- 50 countries.
With the hike in fuel prices, all the other automajors are looking ahead to invest more amount in electric vehicles. Automajors like Honda, Toyota, Nissan  Subaru, Mitsubishi and General Motors are adapting the EV concept considering their consistently increasing demands. These days hybrid cars are getting more attention in the auto industry. Hybrid cars like Honda Civic hybrid and Toyota Prius have registered a decent numbers of sales figure
