Nissan Ellure 2011

How much, how soon? Don’t hold your breath for this as a future production model. It’s only to serve as a reminder that Nissan wants to stay active in the sedan segment. A Post-It note might have been easier. Cheaper, certainly.

How’s it look? With Mr. Nakamura’s many references to “it changes its mood” and “emotion” as he described the car, we weren’t entirely sure whether the Ellure was a car or an ex-spouse.
What is it? The “sedan reimagined,” according to Nissan’s chief creative officer, Shiro Nakamura. With so many sedans unveiled at the Los Angeles auto show, it felt more like a re-enactment.

What makes it tick? The front-drive concept has a supercharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder and a 25 kW electric motor, described as “a next-generation hybrid powertrain.” Which means it’s still sort of waiting to be invented.
