Bugatti Veyron Breaks World Speed Record

At the VW Ehra-Lessien proving ground, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has set the new production car land speed record with a smashing number. Hitting 267 mph, the new Bugatti world record thrashed the previous 256.23 mph time set by the SSC Ultimate Aero in Nevada back in 2007. Beating the previous world land speed record by 11 mph is unbelievable, but then again, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is an amazing sports car. So, what exactly were the improvements to this Bugatti that previous models were left without?

Well, the Veyron still shares the same 16 cylinder 8.0-liter powerplant, however bigger turbos and larger intercoolers increased the power to 1,183 bhp with torque at 1,106 lb-ft. Besides the insane figures of whats under the hood, this Bugatti is significantly lighter due to the completely carbon fiber black and orange skin. This new body saved around 50 kg for the Veyron, giving it a slight advantage with the stiffer suspension, new NACA ducts, and a redesigned double diffuser.

The Bugatti Super Sport hits the same 2.5 second time of 0 to 62 mph as the standard Veyron, however the 0 to 124 mph and 0 to 186 mph times will make your jaw drop. It was able to reach 124 mph in just 7.3 seconds, and exactly 15 seconds to reach a ridiculous 186 mph. The official time was averaged out of two runs from the Bugatti driver. Mansory is probably a name synonymous for outrages designs like the previously featured Porsche Panamera, but unusually they’ve gone for a more reserved look (as reserved as they can get) with the Mansory Bugatti Veyron 16.4 LINEA Vincero d’Oro.

If you’ve been paying attention to our brief Italian lessons with the JDM Alfa Romeo GT Quadrifoglio d’ Oro special edition, d’Oro means gold, and there’s lots of it on this particular reiteration of the VW hypercar.

Using the LINEA Vincerò line, Mansory have changed the cars exterior with modified fenders, a shortened bonnet, a front apron, new front end, side skirts, new diffusers, larger air outlets at the rear and at the sides.

This was then covered with gold which can be seen on the turbine design alloy wheels, curved grill featuring the stylised “Vincerò-V”, the door handles, the rear view mirror caps the fuel tank cap, headlight washer nozzle covers, the borders around the daytime running LEDs and the decorative features on the roof.

Inside the interior hasn’t been spared the gold treatment as the car’s interior lighting has a golden hue along with trim around the car such as the door trim, around the steering wheel and the centre console. Mansory have only produced one unit, but no doubt they would gladly make another if requested.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is a latest model of Bugatti Veyron. In the presence of the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) and a representative of Guinness Book of Records the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431 km/h.

As average top speed the representatives of the "TÜV"and Guinness generate a value of 431, 072 km/h (268 mph). This even hit Bugatti's engineering team by surprise."We took it that we would reach an average value of 425 km/h," explains Bugatti's chief engineer Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, "but the conditions today were perfect and allowed even more.The result is a car with a uniquely high performance of 1,200-hp (882 kW) offering experienced drivers a whole new dimension of excitement, with a maximum torque of 1,500 Newton metres and a limited top speed of 415 km/h (to protect the tyres) but, the technique of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is identical to the record car.

The new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport features in Sardinia is a special edition roadster where only 150 units will be manufactured. It comes out with new aesthetics, modifications and it is set to give a tough competition to the other cars in the market.

This Bugatti comes out with new modifications, newly designed safety features, an open top and it is also the world’s fastest roadster. The body features daytime running lights, high windscreen and a transparent polycarbonate roof.



 The body of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is made of carbon fibre and it houses a longitudinal beam that shifts the cars load from the first pillar to the second pillar at the time of accidents. In addition, there is a carbon plate that has been installed below the transmission. The car features an open top that can be opened or closed within a few seconds and when it is in closed position, it provides a large luggage space.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is powered by a 8.0 L W16 engine with carbon fiber elements and two air intakes that allows cool air for the cooling of the engine and the front wheels. The final output power released by the engine is 987 bhp and 927 lb-ft torque. The maximum speed of the car is 407 km/h.



The suspension system consists of shock absorbers and it allows the cars height to be increased or lowered depending upon the road conditions. The alloy wheels are enclosed with specially designed tires and the wheels are equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels.
