Audi A8 V10 Spyder might launch on March 25

Audi India is all set to take the Indian auto industry by storm, the German auto giant might be skeptical regarding its CKD operations in India but it seems the company is aiming high for the CBU operations.

The company recently launched its magnum opus Audi A8L last month in 3.0 TDI, 4.2 FSI and 6.0 W12 guise) and the Q5's 2.0 TDI variant. Audi has pulled its socks and is now eyeing at launching the bewitching variant of Audi R8 V10 coupe. Audi R8 V10 was launched three months ago and the auto giant is all set to roll out the Spyder drop-top soon in the Indian auto market.

The coupe will be unfolded on the 25th of March, the all new Audi R8 V10 Spyder is likely to inherit some of the traits from the current version. The new variant will be equipped with the same V10 motor found affixed in the coupe. In just 4.1 seconds, the 525 bhp Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 kph and go up to a high speed of whacking 310 kph. With the help of an electrohydraulic setup, within 19 seconds the soft top can latch itself into place. Being just 30 kg in weight the entire setup adds up in maintaining the center of gravity low.

Audi is tight lipped about the price of the new car but, contemplating the price of the current coupe, it is likely to fall under the same price tag. The Audi V10 has performed pretty well ever since its launch in the last three months, the new variant is expected to follow the same trend.

2012 Chevrolet Captiva Indian Version Soon To Hit Indian Roads

New BMW 6-Series Convertible coming on the 25th March

BMW India is all set to bring out the 2011, 6-series in India on the 25th of this month. The 6-series to come will be a convertible.
The company has already got a great response to the X1 that it launched recently and the 3-series has been a favourite ever sine its launch. With plans to bring out the 6-series, the company is looking at another successful tenure in the Indian car market.
Most likely to be launched in the 650i trim, the car will boast of a 4.8 litre V8 petrol engine that churns out 360bhp with 490Nm of torque. The existing 6-series coupe comes with a price tag of Rs. 80 lakhs so one can expect the new one to be pricier.

Tata Indica eV2 to start at Rs 3.99 lakhs

The Indian auto biggie Tata Motors is planning to launch the refreshed version of its popular hatchback Tata Indica, Tata Indica eV2 next month.

Here we are with some more details on the new version of Tata Indica. As we told you earlier Tata Indica eV2 will be powered with the CR4 engine, which is capable of producing 76PS of power at 4000Rpm and 140Nm of torque at 1800-3000Rpm. Tata Motors is working hard on making Tata Indica eV2 the most fuel efficient hatchback, the car offers a decent mileage of 25kmpl at the moment which is the highest in the country. The Indian auto biggie is eyeing at pricing Tata Indica eV2 starting from Rs. 3.99 lakhs for the base variant without AC.

The all new Tata Indica eV2 will be incorporated with features like re-cranking prevention, clutch lock, tachometer, Auto Drive Assist (prevents stalling on steep inclines). Chevrolet Beat EV to launch in April

General Motors will exhibit Chevrolet Beat EV model in April for the domestic auto market.
The new model is expected to benefit the auto giant, which unfortunately Chevrolet Spark EV could not achieve as reported by a senior official of the auto giant.

Karl Slym- the Managing Director of General Motors India has stamped on the development in a recent interview. However he did not give any hint about the type or name of the car in the statement. As per the reports the auto mobile may be badged under General Motors name, an in-house electric automobile program.

Mr Slym said that most probably by April the company will exhibit Chevrolet Beat EV small electric car in the domestic auto market. The small electric car will be ready for production. He also said that the Chevrolet Beat EV is not expected to roll out in near future. However he also said that at present it is not possible to give the exact time also as to when it will be launched. The company will first analyse the domestic auto market response.

Earlier General Motors had a partnership with REVA the electric car makers for exhibiting the model type of Chevrolet Spark EV in the last year Auto Expo. While the partnership could not carry forward Mahindra REVA deal stamped off.

Audi A3 May Be Priced At 20 Lakhs

Audi is planning big for India, it is being speculated that the German auto company is likely to bring the Audi A3 sedan concept in the domestic auto market.
As per the close sources the sedan will be unveiled in 2013-14 at a tempting price of Rs 20 lakh. If the German auto giant will launch the car in this price segment it is sure to take on the present established car models such as Volkswagen Jetta, Honda Civic, Maruti Kizashi and others in this premium luxury segment.

Geneva motor Show - Jaguar XKR-S Makes Maiden Appereance

 The XKR-S is the most extreme expression yet of Jaguar’s passion for building beautiful, fast cars. For the first time with a series production car,

The resulting changes reduced front and rear lift by more than a quarter and optimised lateral aerodynamic stability.

The performance intent of the XKR-S is clear from the moment the driver enters the cabin thanks to new cosseting Performance seats with prominent shoulder wings for close support during hard cornering. The seats feature 16-way adjustment, memory and heating functions while a new three-spoke steering wheel provides the perfect interface between car and driver.

The assertive new appearance of the XKR-S is subtly highlighted by some carefully chosen details exclusive to this model. Exterior trim is finished in gloss black, complemented by 20-inch Vulcan lightweight forged alloys in a dark technical finish.

The XKR-S is available in a range of five paint colours, two of which evoke Jaguar’s competition heritage: Italian Racing Red and French Racing Blue.

The XKR-S is equipped as standard with Jaguar’s High Performance Braking System. The brake discs – measuring 380mm at the front and 376mm at the rear – are internally ventilated to provide repeated, fade-free stopping power. In combination with pad surface increases of 44 per cent front and 31 per cent rear the system provides total security and confidence on both road and track. Stopping distance from 124mph has been improved by 2.7 per cent over the already impressive XKR.

The cabin of any Jaguar is always a uniquely special place in which to spend time and the XKR-S meets all expectations from the moment the driver enters to be greeted by the red Start button pulsing like a heartbeat. When pressed, the engine fires with an rich, deep reverberation and the Jaguar Drive Selector rises from the centre console as a point of first contact to begin the process of bonding man with machine.

The interior of the XKR-S has been subtly refreshed with a host of new trim materials including ebony soft-feel paint for the switches and gloss black finish to the centre console. The model will also be exclusively available with a Dark Linear Aluminium finish as an option to the wood veneers.

A new leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel has also been added, providing a beautiful, tactile interface between car and driver as do the bright, Jaguar-embossed, stainless steel pedals.

Spykar To Focus More On SAAB

Spyker Cars N.V., the Dutch owner of Saab, announced today that is has started negotiations to sell its sports car brand in order to focus on the development of premium car maker Saab,
which it acquired one year ago from General Motors.

The Dutch company said it will sell the assets of its Spyker sportscar business to the UK-based CPP Global Holdings Limited, owned by Russian millionaire Vladimir Antonov. The terms of the deal include an initial purchase price of EUR15 million, plus a further EUR17 million to be paid from future earnings over a six-year period. The money will be used by Spyker Cars N.V. to reduce its debt.

Once the deal is completed, the Dutch company will be renamed so it would not be confused with the Spyker brand. CPP Global Holdings Ltd. will become the owner of virtually all assets related to the Spyker business, including trademarks, intellectual property rights and, of course, the model range.

“Without Spyker we would not have been able to acquire Saab Automobile last year but the Spyker Business soon became a small fish in a large pond as a result. In terms of the overall results of Spyker Cars N.V., the Spyker Business had become immaterial, but to develop its business going forward, its cash needs are relatively significant,” said Victor Muller, CEO of Spyker Cars N.V. and Chaiman of Saab Automobile AB.

"The management of the company has very exciting plans for Spyker and the brand is entering a period of major developments," CPP's managing director Brendan O'Toole added.

CPP Global Holdings has been producing chassis and body panels for Spyker since 2000 and the C8 Aileron model since 2009. The company's controversial owner, Vladimir Antonov, used to own 29.9 percent of Spyker through his Snoras bank, but had his share bought out by Victor Muller's Tenaci Capital before the acquisition of Saab.

Tata Indica's New Face To Be Unveiled By Next Month

Ramakrishnan, an official from Tata motors recently announced that the company is planning to come up with the refreshed version of Tata Indica BS IV variant (diesel) with CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) next month. The company will incorporate the all new BS4 compliant, CR4 diesel engine in its popular hatchback Tata Indica. Apart from that some exciting features will also be added in the popular hatchback.

The refreshed version of Tata Indica is likely to shed some weight and become lighter than the current model. The new engine looks promising and is expected to enhance the performance of Tata Indica. The new engine offers an increase of 65 per cent in torque and is likely to enhance the power by 32 per cent. Not only this but it is expected that the fuel efficiency will be improved remarkably by 46 per cent. Audi A7 to launch in May 2011

Audi entered India in 2004 and since then it has never looked back. The timeless style, perfection it crafts its cars with has lead the car aficionados in awe of the German auto mobile makers
. It seems Audi is on a continuous drive to widen its portfolio, Audi recently launched Audi A8L and now the rumors are doing the rounds that Audi A7 may soon hit the Indian roads. The luxury Sportback Audi A7 was spotted on Pune roads, it is being speculated that the car was on a road test. As per the speculations in the domestic auto market Audi A7 Sportback will be launched in May 2011. The new sedan if enters the domestic auto market will fight with Mercedes Benz CLS and BMW GT, it is being presumed that the car will be available in petrol and diesel mill.
The Audi A7 diesel mill is expected to be powered with 3 litre V6 TDI generating a power of 245 BHP and huge torque of 500 Nm of the twist force from 1400 rpm. New Maruti Suzuki Swift To Be Launched By May 2011

Six years after Maruti Suzuki first introduced its hatchback Swift into the Indian car market, it is all set to bring in the all new Swift 2011 into the market.
One will not get to see changes to the exterior of the car, but there will be definetly some suprises instored. The new Swift's wheelbase will be longer than the earlier one and will look sportier at the rear.

The new Swift will get the 1.2 K-series 1197cc petrol engine and the 1.3-litre multi-jet fiat diesel powertrain. Maruti is still selling around 12,000 swifts a month and the car still remains a favourite and the newer version of the car will only help them double this figure. The hatch might also get a 'Start/Stop' button and hence keyless ignition will be an added feature. With a 5-speed manual gearbox, the vehicle will be priced between 4-6 lakh.

New Volkswagen Passat to launch on 29th March

Volkswagen India has set the stage to unveil its new Volkswagen Passat. Rumours are doing the rounds that the German auto mobile's Indian arm will launch the next generation premium luxury sedan Volkswagen Passat on 29th March.

Volkswagen Passat, the seventh generation car is based on the same platform, however mostly its body parts have been replaced. When compared the new luxury sedan from its older version, it measures only four millimeters long at 4769 mm. However, the new Volkswagen Passat height and width are untouched.

The sedan has gone under cosmetic changes such as a fresh looking front grille and new headlamp treatment, more of the chrome and new smartly clubbed tail lights at rear. Mercedes G 55 AMG Unveiled today

Mercedes G55 AMG has been launched (Gelandewagen) in India today (14th February 2011) by the marvel German auto mobile company with a price tag of Rs 1.1 crore.
Mercedes Benz India did it in style to celebrate the Valentine’s Day by launching the super magnificent Mercedes G55 AMG at Juhu Aerodrome in Mumbai. The newly launched SUV is well known for its stout built and with the launch it immediately grabbed every ones eye ball. Nationally Rally Champ Hari Singh exhibited the true capability of the SUV at the launch.

The power SUV is loaded with V8 engine with a displacement of 5439 cc which is sure to crush the road beneath by churning power of 507 Hp. The Mercedes G55 AMG can speed upto 210 kmph and pickup the speed in 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.5 secs. The SUV born for the tough road terrains is a four wheel drive with five speed automatic transmission along with all disc brakes. It was developed for army in 1970, and for civilians it was launched in 1979 and from then various transformation the SUV has seen.
