Chevrolet Camaro to Comes in India


Indian auto market is luring auto biggies from across globe. Not only are the luxury cars posting the launches but also the sports cars are looking forward to enter India.
The car brands like Koenigsegg, Ferrari and Maserati are entering India and now it is being learnt that Chevrolet Camaro will soon hit the Indian shores.

It was being reported that General Motors magnificent competitively priced Chevrolet Camaro has set the stage to enter India. Tim Lee President of General Motors international operations was heard saying that the auto giant will unveil the car with right hand wheel drive with two door car. As per the information, Chevrolet Camaro made its debut at the Indian Auto Expo in 2010 but then the auto giants did not reveal its plans to enter the second fastest growing auto market. Lee did not comment on the price and time the sporty wagon will be launched but it is expected to hold a price tag of Rs 30 lakh. After adding it in the GM's portfolio it will be the most expensive car the company will offer in India. On the contrary, this sports car is the cheapest on the globe.
Lee also revealed that the Chevrolet Camaro is going through a developmental stage and making it as per the Indian standards in a right hand drive. He further added that GM will not assemble the sports car in India. In the US auto market, Chevrolet Camaro base model starts at $20,000 and goes up to $40,000 (18 lakh). Due to CBU the car will be affixed with an import duty of 110 per cent which will double its pricing. As per the company's strategy, after the launch the auto company will start its brand image. Lee disclosing the strategy said that the company will bring Chevrolet Camaro in India and it does not expect to sell many of its models but will surely attract the sports lovers and others in its outlets. GM visions to develop the car which fulfils the needs of the sub continent and also bring profitability. Lee mentioned that with profitability the company will expand which will open opportunities for the people in India.
